Tales of Sasha Series

By Alexa Pearl, Illustrated by Paco Sordo

$16.99 US / $22.99 CAN

Join Sasha and her best friend, Wyatt, as they set off on a journey to discover the truth behind her magical secret.

In this second book is the Tales of Sasha series, Sasha, her best friend Wyatt, and their teacher Caleb journey into the forest to try and find where Sasha came from.

Sasha has just discovered she has wings and can fly—and that she’s not really from Verdant Valley where she grew up. As the other horses in the valley discover Sasha’s secret, her teacher Caleb reveals that, when he was a young horse, he once met a flying horse named Sapphire in the forest beyond the valley, and she gave him a gift—a huge, glittering blue feather with a piece of gold fabric wrapped around the stem. A map is written on the gold fabric. Caleb explains that he tried to follow it through the forest, but he could never get through because the trees would close together and form a wall. Caleb wonders if the trees would open for Sasha, and Sasha and her family decide Sasha should try.

Sasha, Caleb, and Wyatt set out through the forest, and when they reach the wall of trees, Sasha’s white patch begins to sparkle and the trees part! Caleb is too old and tired to go farther, so Sasha and Wyatt continue on their own. But they can’t figure out what the map’s directions mean, and this side of the trees is nothing like home. With the help of several beavers and a peacock, they finally reach a cave with a huge golden door. After some trial and error, they are able to open the door using the feather. As soon as they do, flying horses soar out of the door and up into the air. Sasha isn’t sure what to do, but Wyatt encourages her to go after them. She takes off into the air, excited to meet these horses who are just like her!
